Q: What is a travel fee and why do you charge it?
A: A flat travel fee of
25.00isappliedtoeveryhousecallvisit.Thisfeecoversourvehiclewearandtear,fuel,andthetimerequiredtobringafullystockedveterinaryservicetoyourdoor.Itisaflatfeepervisit,notperpet—soifDr.Loomisexaminesthreeofyourpetsduringonevisit,youonlypayasingle25.00 travel fee.
Q: Do you offer emergency veterinary services?
A: No. We do not provide emergency services. Because we operate by appointment only and are on the road 3 days a week, we cannot guarantee immediate response times. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency (such as severe trauma, difficulty breathing, or poisoning), please contact the nearest 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital in the Oklahoma City metro area immediately.
Q: What happens if my pet needs surgery, X-rays, or ultrasound?
A: Currently, we refer clients to trusted full-service veterinary clinics in the area for procedures requiring sterile surgeries, dental cleanings, or advanced imaging. However, we plan to expand in the future! If local demand in Luther is high enough, we hope to introduce a sterile mobile surgery unit to provide these services directly at your location.
Q: Can I use your Online Pharmacy if I am not a mobile client?
A: Yes! Non-clients in the Luther area are welcome to use our store to order over-the-counter wellness products, shampoos, supplements, and premium retail pet food. However, any prescription items will legally require an active VCPR (physical exam) with Dr. Loomis.
Q: How should I prepare my cat for a mobile visit?
A: Cats are excellent at sensing changes in their environment. To prevent them from hiding under beds or behind heavy furniture when we arrive, please place your cat in a small, closed room (like a bathroom) with their litter box and water about 30 minutes before our scheduled visit.
Q: What days are you available for mobile visits?
A: We are available for mobile house calls 3 days a week: Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. We also offer special Saturday evening visits (after 3:00 PM) by request. Because routes are planned for travel efficiency, all visits are by appointment only. We always notify our clients immediately if there are any changes to this schedule!
Q: How do I get my pet's medications or prescription food?
A: We offer three convenient ways to supply your pet’s medications:
On-Hand Stock: We carry a selection of common medications directly on our mobile unit. If we have it in stock and you are local or nearby in Luther, we can coordinate to deliver it to you with no travel fee!
Online Pharmacy: We can authorize medications and specialty food on our Online Pharmacy for direct shipping to your home. Shipping is free on orders over $49.
Local Pharmacy Refills: We can call your pet's prescription into a brick-and-mortar pharmacy of your choice.
Please note: By law, Dr. Loomis must perform a physical exam and establish a valid Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) before prescribing any prescription medication.
